“Branding,” a somewhat elusive concept, has now been proven to add real financial value to businesses when executed well. In this class, we explore the fundamentals of brand strategy through a variety of different branding models, case studies, and methods that branding, advertising, and design agencies use to define and build brands. The purpose of the class is to give you real tools that you can immediately apply to your own business or concept. At the end of the course you should feel the branding industry demystified and you should have a good idea of how to tackle your own company’s brand with a long-term view.

Caitlin Flynn is a Senior Strategic Planner at Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, home to global brands like Louis Vuitton, IBM, and American Express.  She has been working as a brand strategist for 5 years. She is currently working on the Coca Cola business and has previous experience on Stolichnaya Vodka, Yahoo, and Kraft Foods. She has created award winning campaigns, worked across multiple industries, and has expertise in youth marketing. Prior to Ogilvy she worked in cognitive development research in speech perception at Brown University. She currently resides in Brooklyn.
